  • Pre-trip consultancy service

Prior to your trip, we will assist you with every stage of the planning and organising process. This includes, but is not limited to:● Price finding service: We will contact various hotels and coach companies on your behalf, using our industry knowledge to find the best prices available. We will then supply you with all the information you need to quickly and easily make a choice from the selection available and then secure the booking.● Cost analysis: Once you have chosen a hotel and coach, we will assist you in determining the right prices to charge your passengers so that you can give them one fixed price to include everything and still be sure that all your costs are covered. Planning materials: We will supply you with various itineraries, booking forms and spreadsheets that you can use to easily organise and manage your trip. Regular support: Throughout the planning process, we will help you to keep on top of everything with timely reminders, regular reviews of the cost analysis and answers to any queries or concerns you have with any of the arrangements you have made.

  • Guide to accompany you throughout your trip

Depending on your location, and in consultation with you, one or more of our guides will join you at least as soon as you arrive in London or at Bethel, and often even earlier in your journey if not right from the very start. As soon as your guide joins you, they will take responsibility for managing your trip and caring for all of your passengers on your behalf, so you can just sit back and enjoy the weekend like everybody else.
Your guide will usually stay with you at your hotel, assisting with check-in, room allocation and check-out, joining you for meals and association in the evening, and available to answer any questions that arise throughout the weekend. They are also responsible for time-keeping and management of any tour bookings throughout the weekend to make sure that everything runs smoothly as you visit the various locations included in your trip.

  • Guided Bible Tour of the British Museum

Included in your tour price is a choice of different themes of Bible Tour around the British Museum. Your weekend guide will usually act as the main guide at the Museum but will often be supported by one or two other guides who will meet you at the Museum.

  • Boat trip on the River Thames

Included in your tour price is a boat trip on the River Thames usually with live commentary from the boat captain to highlight the history and modern life of the sights visible from the water.

  • Live commentary around London

Your guide will provide live commentary throughout your time in London, bringing to life the various sights and locations you pass as you travel around the city.

  • Post-trip photo and analysis

At the end of your trip you will receive a digital copy of a photo poster featuring your group which you have the option to have printed or print yourself. You will also receive assistance with a final cost analysis to ensure all expenses have been fully covered and advice on how to manage any surplus/deficit at the end of your trip.

What is not included in the price?

  • Hotel and coach costs

Although we assist you in finding the best prices for hotels and coaches, you will then choose your preferred option and make the booking directly with the hotel and coach company and you will be responsible for paying for them directly, subject to your contract with the companies.

  • Guide's accommodation costs

Your guide will require accommodation with the rest of your group at your chosen hotel. The cost of this will vary depending on the hotel you choose and is paid directly to the hotel with your booking, it is not included in your £35/adult Betheltours fee.
If we assign an additional guide to your group, we will usually ask you to include their room in your booking and then reimburse you for the cost, at our discretion. Where the size of your group or other factors make the need for an additional Tour Manager unavoidable, we may ask you to cover the cost of their accommodation also.

  • Lunch and other refreshments

The prices we find you for hotels will usually be on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Lunch is not included in any of the fees you pay to Betheltours, hotel or coach. Any refreshments served on board the coach are usually at an additional cost and are not included in your coach hire.

FAQs

  • How much will my trip cost?

The total cost of your trip will vary according to the choices you make. We will provide you with a range of hotels and coach hire options with various negotiated discount rates and you can choose those that suit your group and their budget. We anticipate the total cost of your trip averaging around £270-£300 per adult. Usually, single rooms are extra, children are cheaper, and very young children may be free.

  • Who can come on the trip?

It’s entirely up to you who you choose to approve for your trip, ideally in agreement with responsible brothers in your congregation. If any non-baptised, interested persons are approved to join the trip, they should be reminded of any expected standards of behaviour eg. no smoking, appropriate attire etc.

  • Can we visit Kensington/Greenwich/the theatre etc?

We will provide you with a suggested itinerary based on years of experience of what is practical and enjoyable to include in the limited time you have available. If you want to include any alternative locations in your itinerary, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you in consultation with your Tour Manager/Guide. We reserve the right to refuse to organise or supply a Tour Manager/Guide for certain locations or activities if we deem them impractical or outside of the available budget. You may need to take responsibility for organising and managing those portions of the trip if you decide to include them anyway.

  • Will I receive a free trip/part of a trip?

As the local organiser of a large group, we can waive your Betheltours fee as long as there will still be a minimum of 40 full-paying adults in your group. As for the rest of the trip, how you choose to price and charge for the trip is entirely up to you. You may choose to only charge each passenger the cost price, or you may choose to adjust the prices so that there is an “equalising” (2 Corinthians 8:14) to make the trip more affordable for families or those with limited funds, this may also include covering some of your own costs.
